I get the feeling that stainless steel will be around forever and still shine! Mr. Motts, you must have seen that new show on TV called "life After People"? I don't want to promote anything, but this show is great and demonstrates just what these photographs show, how things deteriorate after time. Check it out.
there used to be a better show on it was on the discovery channel it was called Urban spelunkers or something like that it was cool this guy he just went around and found abandoned buildings and did pretty much the same thing Motts does but they cancelled it because most of the places he was going to was private property and it was illegal
I tried to watch an episode of the Life After People show, the one with Norwich State... the overly dramatic music / sfx / voice over was a bit over the top for me.
I agree Mr. Motts, the music and sound effects do get a little annoying after awhile and if you see enough episodes they kind of all run in together, BUT, they have gone to certain abandoned towns, one in Italy, and that famous island city (I forget the name), which was pretty neat. If you can get past the music and redundancy the show has some interest. Not as much as Opacity I must say!! This is still NUMBER ONE as far as I'm concerned!!
Yeah, it was the same deal with "Session 9". I was disappointed.
There's nothing like Opacity! Thanks Mr. Motts for sharing your passion!
We appreciate it!
The peeling paint is SO cool in this picture.
Eldokid, the redundancy of that show is one thing that irritated me. The music, trying to create this sense of drama, was another. But I was also fascinated with the near-future portrayals, where they went to abandoned buildings or factories to illustrate what things would look like in 20, 30 or 40 years. The cheaply-done CGI illustrations of things in 200 or 500 years were pretty dumb, though. I agree with you... NOTHING tops Opacity!!!
how do u get insid e of these things???...i loove the pic!!!!!!!!!!!!!
screw that show who wants to see what stuff will be like in 400 years any ways i mean after the first show they more than likley just make it up and besides the show Urban Explorers (no longer airing) was way better there was no CG and the only thing the dude did was look for abandoned buildings (like Motts)
love how the walls are in terrible condition but the bed frames are so perfect. I dont even see any rust on them.
was the island city eldokid mentioned called Poveglia? I saw a documentary on Poveglia, it was originally used to exile victims of the second major outbreak of bubonic plague in the 1500's (i think) and then a mental hospital was built there, then abandoned. It is actually off limits to citizens now, many think it is cursed and/or haunted.... it is near venice, by the way
oh i think it was actually a mental hospital/sanatorium, i believe... but i'm not sure
Wow, I'm surprised that was still there. A quick buck for scrappers.
Rusted bed frames are much creepier.
