Welcome to Seclusion

Welcome to Seclusion

A handful of these rooms could be found throughout the building, secured with extra mesh around the observation window, light, and ventilation window. This particular one had a bed bolted into the floor.

Why would they bolt the bed to the floor? Did they think someone would push it over to the door and climb out the transom to escape? Actually, it looks like part of a sheet or something left up there like someone tried to do just that!
A metal bed frame can be a very dangerous thing in the hands of a violent person. Other than a weapon, it could be used to smash out the mesh covering over the window.
and again, a very great title!
wow, I guess you're right. If someone is violent and the adrenaline starts pumping I guess anything can be a weapon.
I think that's a glare and not a sheet up on the window
No worries about re-arranging the furniture! The old cage over the light is cool too.
I'm with ya, Toot. The caged-in light fixture just rocks.
So I take it the frame on the ceiling lamp is a metal cage to keep the bulb from being broken? It looks like a fancy chadelier but would that be paradoxical in a room with a bolted down bed =P
Some of the new psych furniture has wooden sides, they are built in the room, and bolted to the floor on the "inside" of the wooden sides. They are then calked and sealed to floor to prevent anyone from getting any nuts, bolts, or screws out of the bed. Other of the furniture looks like the plastic kids beds and they are also sealed to the floor.
great shot Motts. Thanks for the gallery I was beginning to get withdrawal symptoms from asylum sets :)
Thats a wallpaper picture! You do good work Motts
Couldn't imagine staying locked in there for ten minutes let alone
months on end.
it looks like seclusion had the best beds. They probably had those beds so they could chain up they acted up.
The light at the top of the room even has a type of cage around it.
Never seen bolts on a bed like that. Whoa...
it must have been a pain to change that lightbulb... but maybe they never changed it... if i was perpetually stuck in that room, i think i'd want it to be dark, but that's just me
Kinky, eh 'Person'?!
try sleeping in there for a night
I wouls try to stay a night there. with EMF's and nightvision well maybe not the night vision might not want to see what was coming.
I have actually been in a seclusion/isolation room and it sucks big time. Like the bed in this photo mine was bolted to the floor and that was about all there was in the room. I had to wear scrubs like clothing that were tear resistant so I couldn't hurt myself. Anyhow a really nice photo.
