Professional accountants are nursable :)
what does that sticker mean
Heheh. . . It's almost like the quotation marks should be around 'accountable'.
Accountable for their actions, no doubt. A reminder to play by the rules, not to put your profession at risk by doing something foolish.
The "un" professional ones "arent".
ok that makes sense
Back when these places were still in operation, the mentally ill were, for the most part, forgotten.......written off by society. Although there were many cases of neglect & mistreatment, this sticker reminds us that some staff members actually cared for the patients.
Haha, eldokid! That is definitely a random sign...
How ironic that the sticker seems to be in better condition than the very paint upon the walls.
It was probably posted much more recently since the erosion crests are beneath the sticker.
Or maybe is just a crazy durable sticker =P
LOL Eldokid
lol eldokid, when i first read this i saw ( Accountable Nurses "are" Disposable)
Back when...mentally ill people were usually not listened to. Their complaints went unheard, and if they accused anyone of anything...well who cared...they are insane! But I believe this sign reminds nurses that they are accountable, no matter who they serve.
LOLOL
im hoping this wasnt in a paitent's room.
Ok. I don't understand...
I want that in my room, lol.
????? What??????
if your not accountable then your not being professional
well put pegasus64, i agree
This is reminds me of Silent Hill but more peaceful , truly mesmerizing and megane
I am a duley appointed frederal marshal. I have no idear what that sign means.
Oops/. Sorry. I meant to say federal marshal. That's not gonna look good on the official incident reports,
As a nurse I took it to refer to the medications that have to be counted at the beginning and end of every shift. Then as I read your comments, I began to see all kinds of things it could apply to. Including documentation. Living up to the standards that we were taught in nursing school. At the end of the day nurse's work is only as good as the nurse doing the job. Nobody stands over us all shift long. It probably applies to that most of all.
The "ARE" makes me think this sticker refers to a facility program/policy, a reminder to the nurses of whatever it is the policy addresses. The facility where I work is currently transitioning to computerized charting, and there are posters everywhere saying "information secURITy" (emphasis on U R IT, you are it, you are the one responsible for protecting our clients' health information)...this sticker seems to me like that sort of thing.
It's called sarcasm. The sticker is meant to imply that though they are supposed to be accountable for thier actions, they are not generally held accountable when it matters. It is an opinion being expressed based on one person's experience.
Seriously, it struck me more like a warning to the nurses; telling them mistakes can be traced back to the sourse!
