Is the faucet that middle part of the porcelain? I've never seen a sink like this before, love it - - although there doesn't seem to be enough room to hold your hands under to wash.
the faucets are on the left and right. left for cold right for hot or vice versa
Great photo, almost looks like a face.
Not a soap dispenser is it? (sorry lol!)
Reminds me of a happy little frog?
D-UH... sorry I didn't even notice the faucets - but what is that center thing? Could it be for SOAP?? hehehehe
it's probably the overflow drain, most sinks we're used to seeing have a small hole on the backside so if the sink gets too full it drains out instead of overflowing.
im gonna second ferdy...little frog indeed!
Beautiful patina on the faucets.
I'll guess the center knob is for the drain stopper. Separate faucets are nuts. Either scald your skin off or freeze your hands. I try to wash my hands fast before the hot water gets too hot.
autoguy, I also hate separate faucets. I guess there was some reason for it back in the day. What reason, no idea...
my old house came with a bathroom sink like that with separate faucets -- my husband changed it.
I was thinking the centre thing was for soap too, maybe you pull it up and push it down and soap comes out the middle of the sink under the sticking out part of porcelean?
looks like a happy face with a runny nose. I love this sink. I would kill to have this in my bathrooom.
The porcelain "thingi" in the middle is the drain stopper. The idea was you pulled this up to plug the drain, then used both hands to turn on the water ( to get the temp. you want ). You then wash your hands in the standing water, then pushed the stopper down and let the water down.
I think it's beautiful man
I so want that sink
That smiling sloth is the safety outlet.. When i grew up, in the fifties, there were no mixed faucets, and we filled the sink to wash hands. Ahhh memories. Nice!

Question: What is the first letter of the word "abandoned?"
