OK, I'm going to say it and I apologize...."What, no SOAP DISPENSER?!" Oh wait, is it that square thing in the middle? No, that's for towels, but if they have a towel dispenser, surely they must have a . . . . sorry.
where are the soap dispensers motts? and it is a "paper" towel dispencer.lol
don't ya'll know they put the soap dispensers on the celing??
right! on the ceilng under the lights....
They didn't have soap dispensers - - soap came in BARS...remember?!?
BTW, I love the shift from green @ the top, to pink to blue.........
Not sure why, but these kinds of sinks (especially in rows) always give me the creeps. The legs look "stuck-on" and "extra" and "in the way", and just coldly clinical. I know, I know, they ARE in an INTSTITUTION, but they always seem so "institutional" when used in non-commercial settings.Whenever I see a picture of a house with a sink like this, I'm creeped-out by the non-homey, "industrial" feel to it. I always want to scream "go down to Home Depot and buy a sink that's meant for a HOUSE!!!!!!" OK, small concern in life, but I don't want any part of my house to look like it belongs in a hospital.
A lot of old houses here have sinks like that, but usually with just one metal pole beneath the center. The soap holders are square holes in the wall above the sink with ceramic lining. I think they look nice.
But the bath tubs creep me out a bit for some reason. They have that huge metal drain with the chain and some bulky fawcets that look like they're gonna spew goo =P
Maybe the PTs kept eating the soap?
I love the way the light is coming into the room. I have a warm feeling looking above the sinks but get a cold looking below the sinks. I guess because of the colors, the warmer tones are higher up....OK, I'll stop babbling now. Cool shot!
Fabulous atmosphere in this picture.
excuse me, we are out of paper towels.
I like those old sinks but they are a bit creepy. Old toilets, urinals and bathtubs are creepy too but they are fun to look at. Where are you Debbie? I miss you
Pleas... the soap dispenser thing for years and tears, is SOOOOOO old. Just not funny anymore. ;/
they look like city hall/court house bathrooms crica 1930.... especially the tile base of the wall...
love it!!!!! it would be perfect for a photo shoot. wonderful shot
Interesting shot. I find it odd though that glass mirrors would be used after all a patient could smash the glass and use it as a weapon or harm themselves.
Ref Sinks, Faucetts, soap dispeners, etc. The design is basically European. Even thought the States had their own way of getting water into a basin/bowl at the time, because the design of the building was based on a European physco/hospital model, the fittings usually were chosen by the designers of the building. Even though the designers may have been US in origin the models that they chose from were from Europe. Most people in the US would not have experienced such faucetts at this time, unless of course they were well travelled ...or mad! There is no better, or worse , just different!
