HA! First comment!! I must say that this is my favorite place to pass time and I come back often hoping for new galleries. Thank you Mr. Motts for satisfying my morbid sense of reality. And if I came across this piece of machinery, I would not have a clue as to what it was. My first guess would be some kind of record turntable on steroids.

It's an autoclave, used to sterilize reusable medical instruments via high heat and pressure.

hahaha, eldokid! Guess why it looks like that to you is because it is relatively small compared the to larger ones we have seen in the hospitals on Motts site.
