This must have been a very nice place. Something about this shot just pulls me to the screen.
Intriguing door.
As you scroll down the pic, it is as if you are slowly walking down the stairs, as your eyes become fixed on the cobweb, and that old crystal door knob!
dude i totaly think that this shot is awesome i love the colors in it and i love the door and the stairs
Everything about this one rocks - lighting, color, perspective, detail...awesome!
this place looks like it's been derelict a long time
you rang?
Crystal doorknob? Looks like brass to me...
Is that black thing a dead animal, or just a rag?
Check the woodwork on the sides of the stair risers. They just don't build stuff like that anymore! Makes me wonder what the banister looked like...
If that doorknob was brass, it would have tarnished a LONG time ago. Since this was built before the shiny fake-brass coating they put on doorknobs now, I'd say it probably is a glass knob.
Beautiful!
thanks! Rekrats. I just zoomed in on it again, and Yep, its glass!
WOW! What a beautiful shot! I love the door and the detail on the side of the stairs is amazing as well. The light coming in on the left is beautiful as well. Now those webs....not so much. (OK, they ARE cool but I loathe spiders.......eeeeeek!)
Fantastic shot!
R those the same as in earlier pics
i like that the cobwebs almost mirror the vertical slats in the door....
spider see, spider do?
the lighting is amazing in this shot, Motts. I will be honest and say that as a photographer, you inspire me with amazing work like this. I love your site! Thanks! =)
The woodwork on the side of the stairs was the first thing that caught my eye as well. I am so moved by the craftsmanship evident in the simplest everyday objects, from the era when people made things with their hands, out of materials offered by the earth.
It looks like what we may be seeing here is a lack of a doorknob. I think it may just be the base, which is risen in the middle. Not sure either way, however.
