I know you weren't happy with the light on this trip Motts, but I honestly think that the dull grey sky adds to this photo! I reckon a gorgeous blue backdrop would detract from the atmosphere.
I agree with Kez,I think the stark looking sky adds to the somber tone of the photo.
As agree that the grey day fits the industrial theme of these shots, I would like to have seen them with a brighter background to to bring about the idea of man vs nature...some of my enjoyment of Motts work is seeing how nature can eventually overtake and erase the work of humankind. For instance, if you look at photos of Chernobyl today...it's amazing how nature has taken back the landscape and erased one of humankind's biggest disaster. Nature is extremely resilient...
i wanna just chill here with a few people and have deep conversation
I agree with Kez, I like that the sky is kind of grey. It works with an abandoned industrial location, in my opinion anyway.
i think it is an awesome photo too the only thing i would have done would be to move that green hose
love the architecure on that tower...dunno why, but it's graceful to me.
Nice.
Wonder where the car went?
I, also, agree with Kez. Great shot!!
While I agree that the grey sky is photographically undesirable (as some viewers pointed out), the negation of sky color makes the urban architecture appear very monolithic; but I enjoy the sense of powerful, foreboding ruin.
