First.
Now, for a meaningful contribution: I assume all the crap all over the floor is from the fire?

Starting out with the by now famous lonesome chair picture?
The RED chaste lounge!
So,
Tell me about your mother...
DR.Binky, Its not time for my appointment! Dont you just love the sunspots on the wall and banister in Motts photo!
Once again, I am freakin' SPEACHLESS. This is one of the most beautiful galleries yet.
Nice, a new gallery for the new year!
Frankie says Relax....dont do it....he means sit in that chair! Lord knows what you would catch if you did sit in it....ewwwwwww
Once again, got busy and haven't been on in a few weeks (for shame...). So happy to see a new gallery! Love the lonely red chair Motts!
Mr. Motts, I have traveled to this City Methodist Church numerous times and been captivated my ever since the first time i stepped foot into its halls. It is one of the most beautiful places I have photographed. Never have i been able to find historical photographs like the ones you have. I thank you so very much for it, those pictures allowed me to finally see City Methodist in its former glory. Truly, i thank you!!!
i remember this church from my child hood all the pics bring back memories
Thanks for the new gallery, Motts! As always, you deliver in fine fashion. Now, onto the photos....
Somehow, being snowbound here in Wales has served to add an extra sense of 'WOOHOO!' upon seeing this new gallery.

And what an intro! I'm an exceedinngly happy bunny :)
The chair is oddly out of place
It almost looks like someone took the time to sweep all the rubble to the side of the stairs, doesnt it?
That chair is just so freakin cool right there!
how is it not burned up?
Mr. Motts, you just made my day. I've actually been inside this building and I'm thrilled to see you've found it too. Thanks!
What an odd piece of furniture for a church, unless iwas from a rectory?
I've been to this gallery many times over the last couple of years, but I've never left a comment. I just can't come up with an appropriate statement that begins to convey the feelings these photos give me. To see this church in it's glory, standing so strong in the archive photos, makes one think this beautiful building was indestructible. It's obvious from the very first photo that nothing man-made is indestructible. Abandonment, time, neglect, and fire all lead to this catastrophic destruction. This house of worship has met the wrecking ball and is no more. Even in ruins, this was a beautiful place. We thank Motts for these magnificent images that would have never been seen.
Im sorry to hear tgis church was finally knocked down but I guess it was so far gone that it could not be saved. I love the pictures old and new
