Thank you Sir Motts for another emotional batch of photographs. I so admire your life and adventures.
Great set! It's sad that a church of that caliber is just rotting away..
Awesome as always Motts!
Mr. Motts Wallpaper Please.
thank you Mr. Motts, this was a great way to start off 2010. Happy New Year everyone!
I love the mottled light and colours in this set. Thank you Motts for one of your most poignant and beautifully sad galleries yet. It's a shame that such a gorgeous piece of architecture had to be left to rot away. Looking first at the "old" photos you posted and then seeing these made this an unforgettable trip!
Thank you Motts for another wonderful gallery! This was such a great location to look at!
(BTW, Charity, I'm on page 5 too!) ;-D
Great shoot of one of the ghosts of Gary. Thnx for posting Motts! There's plenty of ghosts there too. Did you get to the steel mill? How about the Hulett ore unloaders on the side side of Chicago? They're the last two left intact.
Thanks again, Motts.
Amazing building
As usual, awesome work. Thanks!
miss you Mr.Motts, are you ok? havent seen you put your two cents in lately, Hope you are out taking more beautiful photos, and recording alot of history! Come back Soon!
Thanks Motts, hope you had a good christmas and new year,
keep up the good work =)
Hello Motts. Thank you so much for your photos (both old AND new) of this once thriving church. It's sad to see how things have changed, and deteriorated, over the decades. Your treatment of this subject was done VERY well and very SENSITIVELY. I hope surviving members of this once great church have the opportunity to see your work - I think they would greatly appreciate it, as do I.
Thanks guys!
autoguy - I didn't get to see the ore unloaders but will keep an eye out for them next time I'm in Chicago - I did manage to scope out the Acme coke plant on the south side after this place, working on that set at the moment.

LucieLou - thanks, I've been super busy shooting abandoned buildings on the south coast during the past few days, but I'm back now!
Sooooo glad you are back and doing ok! Oooo shooting on the south coast! Sounds very interesting! Will be anxiously awaiting the finished product one day soon!

Welcome back! You are very much missed when you are gone :)
It's been awhile since I visited the website, but as usual, I am awestruck..Thank you so much for the great work.!
Wow, you should come back to see more one of these days!
Absolutely love the whole gallery and especially this shot...wallpaper? Please?
Thank you, Motts... Beautiful place, beautiful photos...
I grew up in Gary back in the 50's and 60's, and can remember going to a wedding at this church. I was lucky to see it in its glory days.
I love pics of abandoned buildings, but because all the historic photos were provided, it made it all so desperately sad. The building was gorgeous not that long ago - it is so strange what change can do to a place.
OK, I've held my tongue long enough. This is a beautiful building & gorgeous photographs. Motts, you are much more than a photographer. You are an artist in every sense of the word. But, I can't look at these pictures & wonder how many children were tormented by clergy in these walls. How many tears were shed in these rooms. There. I said it.
