Well preserved... how long has it been abandoned again?
This bunker was restored to depict what it probably looked like, so the vintage items in the room were purchased, donated or found elsewhere.

The actual objects left inside the bunkers for over sixty years are usually deteriorated beyond recognition.
They did a great job restoring. Awesome.
Growing up in the military during the Cold War, I've always been so fascinated with bunkers and fallout shelters. It's so cool you got to go see this Motts.
"Could someone pass the Beano"
it would certainly be a quiet sleep so far underground. This place has a very odd atmosphere though.
Quiet! no way! can you image it crammed full of snoring adults and crying babies! Plus figure in the echo factor. I'm sure it was a cacophony of noise.
Its great seeing all this restored. I bet it must have been noisy with all those people in there, maybe a bit claustrophpic too. The darkness can get to you too.
Motts, how many people could sleep in one of these rooms? I know you said you didnt catch much of the tour information but thought you may know. Thanks
I too am facineted with fallout shelters, bunkers and abandoned places...that's why I LOVE this site! Motts, you do a great job capturing these images.
Here is another place of interest of mine, If this is not the place to put this, lease fell free to remove the link.
