grave markers?
And Children's Coffins.
Very poignant .
What's the size on these? I think my perspective is off - can't gauge the size.
children??? *sniff* no way??
I would say the boxes are around 3-4 feet long.
Ah. . . Well, I guess it IS a masoluem. . .
They look like a small child's casket, too me, thus my first comment. I wonder what the morbidity rate was the last few months of the war, here in the bunker. Given the stifling conditions and the and dwindling medical supplies It must have been high especially among the young and old.
very creepy thoughts when you see this, I wonder how many people died down there.
brought tears to my eyes....SO much death. :(
Towards the end of the war, they were recruiting children, women, and elderly men.
They may not be from childern, but maybe some fallen comrad's items...or just parts of the fallen comrad. Sort of like the urns they use to put ashes in today?
Ossuary ?
Gefallenen Kameraden sounds like fallen comrad (sp?) soo...hm
they were maybe dog coffins!!!... you know... the Führer loved dogs?.. that would explain the size and the caption on the crosses, right?
Gefallenen Kameraden DOES mean "fallen comrades"
Nice, funny to see this side of my hometown.but it should be spelled : Gefallene Kameraden or Den Gefallenen Kameraden ;)
