I love the Darth Vader look!!
the evolution of gas masks...
About the masks pictured...From left to right...

Left: M-44/1944 civilian mask (volksgasmaske)...Alloy filter, also came with a cardboard filter when alloys ran out...

Second from left: VM-37/1937 civilian/military ? mask (volksgasmaske 37)...I can't see if it has a neck strap on the back which would make it civilian and an earlier version...Civil defense was issued these too....

Third in line is the GM 38/1938 military mask (and carrier)..gasmaske 38..

And lastly on the right looks like a 200 series gasmaske ? used through the 1930's...A civilian mask for industrial purposes instead of warfare applications...
If not then a mask used through the 40's and 50's that is made of rubber instead of rubberized canvas...The mask looks rubber in the picture which would date it later than the 200 series...Anyways the exhale valve gives it away as an industrial mask...
As far as I can tell that is what it is...Perhaps that is an ID card under it...?...

ebolavirus...
WALLPAPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh my god, this is really freakin scary.
I need one of these for my office when these women come in here with thier god awful rancid perfume on - one of these days I will find one, and sit at my desk wearing it - see if they notice
The card below the mask reads "Staubschutzbrille," I'm guessing protective equipment from dust.
*high-fives ebolavirus*
I see the spectacles laying there and think to myself if you had to wear those and the gas mask you might be screwed. If you wanted to see you couldnt breathe if you wanted to breathe you couldnt see.
the mask on the left reminds me of a womble
Eldokid! Yeh......there's one particular one called poison.......and you know what? IT IS!!!!! It burns........what do they do, shower in it????
Thanks Motts...Yes dust/particle shield...

:) @ redinkreign

Happy to donate my info about the equipment...I found this set most interesting because of ABC content...
I agree with Lynne, definately a great wallpaper!
Star Wars was totally influanced by some of the imagery from WWII

I cannot imagine how freaked out I would be as a kid with everyone around me running into a pit and wearing freaky masks waiting to be bombed or gassed.
LMAO to serinity jane and Eldokid! brilliance!

I second the wallpaper! :D
It reminds me like a picture from a Blasphemy gig or other war BM act
That is just oh-so-creepy. :)
"Are you my mummy?"
