Almost appears the water on the floor came from the sink
From the water mark on the wall , a heck of a lot of it was pump out or, floods in periodically.
Stagnant water reminds me of green pea soup!
It looks like the water level changes, judging by the marks on the wall. Very cool shot!

per history channel - Berlin has a very high water table - and as such stuff underground floods regularly - and did during the war as well - and had to be pumped out regularly. Even in bunkers that were built on top of hills - the first floor above ground and any under flooded.
