Thats what excactly was, a niche, When working night that where I would make my nest and cop a few zzzz's. The ward was upper 4 and 5 north. It was an ancient ward and gave one the chance to absorb the past and feel the present.
God, these structures all have such beautifil windows and moldings, and theres looks to be alot of them still intact! I wish they wold save some of this before they demolish it and either use it to preserve the memory of the place or sell it in a state auction so people who love the structure could have a little piece of it before its gone forever.
Classic
It is obvious how they got electricity into this room, with the surface mounted conduits, but there is no indication of old gas lamp fittings. Maybe this room didn't need artificial lighting, it is so warm and cheery without it.
Motts i know you'll never see this but nice work,i like these curved rooms we had on in our house in Melbourne in victoria Australia i used to love sitting in it cause the sun came through so nicely.
It's smiling at me...
I love a curved niche! ;)
What beautiful windows. The craftsmanship that went into this place is astounding.
