I have stayed here over night, at the hospital. This is where I first incountered spirits. Yes I am one of those wierdos who believe in ghosts. If anyone else shares my feelings, and would like to learn more about them, you can email me, at

i've seen the hospital from far away and it looks like it could be really awesome to see the inside. i've done research and i saw pictures of the cafeteria and there was a ghost ( well a blur). It was awesome. one of these days. I'm not afraid of what may still be in there i'm afraid that a floor or ceiling will fall on me. Or to get lost in the dark. e-mail me at:

with your comments.
How long was the shutter speed on this shot?
Around 30 seconds, I think.
cue the cheesy Theramin music!
some paganini might be appropriate... a caprice in e minor, perhaps?

i do like the lamp effect, albeit unintentional. it reminds me of the ectoplasmic photos of old.
Just went there last night...Have about 100 pics. One of which contains a whisp of light right in front of the camera just like that one. the funny thing is, the whole time we were there (about 3 hours) I did not feel the least bit threatened or like there was a presence. I have had encounters before (state hosipital in Belchertown for instance) and this place felt comfortable: like exploring your own attic or basement.
Jeremy has never been exploring in my basement.
It is VERY uncomfortable down there!
kinda wish they wouldn't demolish the building, it is quite beautiful,,,,reminds me of "House on Haunted hill"
Excellent photo, I love the added touch of the headlamp!
This picture looks kind of fake if you ask me.
What looks fake about it?
I always thought the long exposure night shots looked fake, like something generated in 3D Studio Max or a similar program. Here's a good example: http://www.opacity.us/gallery81.htm
All of them look that way, in varying degrees. I know Motts took the pictures, and I'm just amazed by them, but they still look like CG.
Johny, can you expound on your experience in the hospital. Thanks, the.umassstudent@gmail.com
Damn, I thought that was a bit of miasma, not so eh?
Johny: I am also a believer of such things, I would love to here what yuo ahve to say on the topic. bigspankyshell@hotmail.com, thanks Renee
I had to stay in a state hospital for a month and a half for self injury, and so much had a profound effect on me. from that day forward I have been facinated with old abandoned mental facilities. I love talk about the history of such places. I am told if I do not get my act together and learn how cope with my severe anxiety I will wind back into that state hospital for a longer haul. Anyone feel free to email me with comments and just idle talk. My email is deafangel4706@aol.com
