I knew something was odd while walking through this building but couldn't quite put my finger on it (I was busy being very impressed with the architecture and light), until I came upon this room. Obviously the place had been swept extensively and very recently.

How odd. The place is peeling, and they are sweeping.
Motts, love the colors. What do the steps lead to?
Good heavens, you just capture the BEST light! The colours in this place are so vibrant.
Motts, what about odors in a place like this after so many year?
There's usually a dank, musty, rotting wood odor inside the old buildings; newer facilities can be pretty odorless, or rank with a nasty mold / mildew smell depending on the humidity and ventilation inside. Attics are almost always a dusty-stuffy smell, and laced with a pigeon dropping stink depending on the temperature.

Hospitals often still have the scent of strong disinfectant I like to call a "hospital smell;" it's quite unpleasant but I think I've grown attached to it, for obvious reasons.
it looks like a miniature plasticine model that you can mould.....soft and squidgy.
I'd love to live in a place like this.........
this would make a cool apartment
The layout is fantastic!!!
Again with the composition. :'D Just amazing.
Stunning lighting Motts

How do you always get such good lighting Motts?

You always seem it get the light so soft and moody.
this kind of building deserves to be in some kind of a movie.....
the phantom sweeper strikes again!
This is another shot that's about the same as one NickSan posted on the forums, but wow the amount of decay has changed dramatically! I wonder how much time was in between the two...
what was the purpose of the stairs to no where at the right? interesting!
this one scares me a little...seems like there are too many openings here...
It's almost an MC Escher, where every pathway leads somewhere dimensionally different.
skate boarding would be ideal on these floors!!
I wonder if they are getting ready to restore it since the floors ahve been swept. They could do a lot with this place
You did some fabulous light work with this one.
Woahh! The layout is indeed eye catching!
It is good to see that someone cares enough to sweep it,,,,,,no matter who they may be. Kudos to you!!!
This one feels pleasantly "balanced" to me. Not symetrical, bu balanced. Nice combo of colors, patches of light, curves and straight lines.
you never fail to amaze me. also i too have grown attached to the smell of abandoned buildings....but only from exploring abandoned houses nothing cool like hospitals.
yuk the "hospital smell" lasts.
