With that many tables and buckets down there, they must have been "busy" at some point in time. Moldy floor?
how do you light your shots?
Flashlight painting
What kind of flashlight you use to paint these with? Im thinking LED, but I figure I would ask. I tried doing this with my standard old maglite and results where...bleh.
The tiles along with the ashy-dirt material look so beautiful. Dark, but beautiful.
These were lit with an LED, they have a nice soft effect but if the space is large, I find the C or D battery maglite really cuts through distances.

I find the best tips for painting are:
1) Don't stand behind the camera and paint, move off to an angle from the subject.
2) Move the light around while the shutter is open for a diffused glow, unless you want a real stark photo with deep shadows.
Sweet thanks :)
You awe me, sir :). My respect for you expands exponentially every time I visit the site. I literally drain the power on my iphone nightly, I'm working alphabetically through your archives.

I work in the camera business, and I've never heard of flashlight painting! (feelin' like a bit of a tool because of that, actually..) thank you for teaching me more!

This gallery is one of the most fascinating I've seen on here so far, other than Crypt of Barons.
This space you've captured here has a dark vibe, I really like it!
