Decontamination

Decontamination

A newer building at the hospital contained this curious disinfection room. The narrow corridor in the center had drains in the floors yet no discernible fixtures for shower heads (presumably removed). Large holes near the ceiling hinted at some mechanism coming from the left wall, and the door frames at both ends were lined with rubber to create a tight seal when the heavy doors were closed.

A bathroom was through the door on the left, and to the right was the passage to the next room - assumedly used by the staff when the disinfection was in process.

Too young to have this "abandoned" look.

That's one big-ass soap dispenser propped against the wall there.

the girls from axe doing all the cleaning for you?? gotta love that commercial ^_^
what is it with you guys and soap dispensers
This looks like no place for children, even in its day
polio, tuberculosis, typhoid fever, smallpox, and scarlet fever were prominant back then, whole wards in hospitals were built just for the treatment of these diseases, perhaps that was the thought process here.....building a room to contain someone if they had come down with something that couldnt be treated right away until a doctor came along, to help protect the other students?
It's like a DOUBLE soap dispenser!
