Such elegant scrollwork. Lovely to behold.
I wonder if the carpet was red, or royal blue?
Both would have looked amazing.
I have said it over and over again...it is such a shame that something so beautiful is rotting away.
broken windows much? great shot
There are broken windows...but I don't see any graffiti yet. Its not all defaced. And I agree on the scroillwork!
I've never seen banisters like that before. They're beautiful!
Shhhh....they missed a window....That IS one GORgeous staircase!
I like the lighting.
I would have loved to see this place years ago
why do they always break the windows? It makes no sense. The woodworking is amazing
Me too. JackieB there is Abandoned Hotel here in Florida if you come down here i can take you there.
wallpaper! this shot is fantastic!
I wonder what that room was used for, Debbie Id love to see the hotel in Fl
A fantastic shot! Would be a cool wallpaper indeed, I love the textures Motts.
Can you imagine all of the children who saw that fanciful scrollwork, and what their little imaginations made of it? As a child, I would have loved to run my hands over such carvings, imagining myself somewhere magical... wow.
Wicked shot - I really like it! And the black-and-white treatment really makes the shot.
Yeah the detail work on the staircase is amazing really. Shame about all the broken windows. I myself wonder what that room was used for? Maybe it was some kinda office ? Interesting nonetheless.....
Amazing shot! What a staircase. Wish they still built like this!!! Hey Debbie, where in Florida is that hotel?
Beauty of the scrollwork and broken windows aside, I really like how you captured the daylight spilling down the staircase.

Outstanding composition!
les escaliers et les fenêtres cassées donnent l'aspect de lames de rasoirs.

I am Back. The Hotel is in New Port Richey Fl,
I thought of razor blades, too, when I saw this photo (vmc's comment, as I understand it with my very limited French "The stairs and the cut-out openings give the appearance of razor blades.") I also think they look a little like imaginary creatures from Dr. Seuss, people being blown about in a wind storm while carrying other creatures on their heads.
love the stairs, the black and white makes the details stand out...
What old hotel in NPR? I live in Clearwater
NPR - hey! those are my initials for my natural name.
also NATIONAL PULIC RADIO
