Oh yikes!

When I scrolled down to see this picture, I enhaled my saliva - scared me! LOL!

Got me too did that!

This one did it for me. I must have jumped a foot off the chair. I have been with-holding comment but I just had to let you know that I can't imagine anyone with sufficient guts to explore a place like this. Some beautiful shots! My hat's off to all of you.

This chair almost looks like a delivery chair they have in some hospitals.

No one should bring a mask like that into an asylum while patients resided there, not even for Halloween.

Are you kidding? Halloween is one of the best holidays at most institutions because of all the food and parties! Just because people live apart from others while they are getting their lives together doesn't mean they give up all the fun activities of "normal" life. At every place I have worked, the folks have enjoyed Halloween and got as big a kick as "outsiders" have with all the dressing up and goodies and parties. Denying them the normal activities the rest of us engage in is what makes them feel different and apart from others.

That mask does look really out of place but that is part of what makes this photo interesting.

I hate to tell ya but that ain't no therapy chair!!! It's and exam table for a GYN exam for women. I don't even want to think about what happened to some of the patients on that thing!!!!!

...I'm in agreement, Lynne. Holloween would be and is a most beloved childhood memory, regardless of ones mental digressions later in life....

I was gonna comment on the GYN exam table, but Betsy beat me to it. I hope the doctor didn't wear that mask while he/she was working on patients! :)

some of you make such stupid assumptions and stupid comments and I'm sure the mask was placed there for effect.

i agree with stunned it was pobably placed there i don't think it is scary at all.

It was placed there by me. No thoughts of effect intended I just got tired of carrying it around and left it there. Motts was working his way down the hall just behind me,and captured this erie image just as he found it.

The mask was just so obviously out of place (and time) that it had to have been planted. Drew's statement weren't a big surpice.

Well, sometimes we doctors like to sit down on something comfortable whilst giving exams. Nothing wrong with that is there? :D

That mask looks to recent and in very good condition (no dust apperentaly) to date back from years ago. This shot is probably scened in one way or another.

Did anyone ever see the old "The Twilight Zone" television show that ran from 1959 - 1964?

There was an episode that had mask's that were somewhat strangely similar to this mask that is sitting on the corner of this green couch.

In this particular episode there was a very rich and wealthy old Grandfather who was dying. The very greedy and very creepy four members of his family come over to his house because they know that he will die soon and they want all of his money, property and land. But the Grandfather has a trick up his sleeve and it's pay - back time. He tells the "four creeps" that each one of them has to wear a mask that he gives to them. So the "four creeps" wear the mask's all though very reluctantly. And then the Grandfather puts on his mask. After several hours of this to include bickering between the family the Grandfather finally dies. Then the four family members take off their mask's and to their sudden horror they discover that the skin of their faces has transformed and changed into the hideous image of the mask's that they have just worn.

And the Grandfather ?

Well his mask looks somewhat strangely similar to the mask in the photograph above.

The covering of the couch is much like the suite my Grandad had for years before passing to my Aunt & Uncle who had it until the early 1990s. The arms were fully upolstered apart from a coaster sized wooden square in each arm.

It's a gyne table, or a standard exam table that could double as a gyne table. I think there's one wery similar in my doctor's old office.

Maybe a phycopath ike mike meyers stayed here?

OK, so I work in an Accountants, and was having a look through this gallery.

As my eyes met the skull mask in the photo, the phone rang.

I have never jumped so far off my chair.
It wasn't even funny.
