Most of the bathrooms at the resort were communal.

So i assume that there used to be stalls around them?
It doesnt look there there were ever stall doors mounted as far as i can tell, only a line on the wall where the water pipe was.
how odd, seeing as its a more modern building.
Another "Toilets from Hell" shot!! Looks like someone swiped the tanks that were at the top of those pipes. Odd, especially for a hotel.
Talk about "Gettin to know you neighbor"
Looks like this could also be called the
"Throne Room"
Dig them far out crappers. Crafty rascals they were.
"Throne Room".....that was a laugh out loud moment! Glad I wasn't drinking anything.

Communal bathrooms...not so hard to imagine given that Europeans are so much more relaxed about certain attitudes. Gotta love it.
Yeah talk about no privacy....wow that kinda surprises me some.....interesting. I don't think I'd like that very much......
Nothing says "vacation to remember" like a communal crapper.
Hmmm. Ummm, just NO. Being "relaxed" about certain issues is one thing. Then comes the line that is not to be crossed. Clothing-optional beach? Fine. Even a rare communal shower at the gym (which thankfully, as far as I know, no longer exists), is still (albeit reluctantly) OK. "Individual-stall-optional" bathroom, however? NOT fine! :-0.
I wonder if those were the original toilets. Its kind of strange to see that kind of bathroom at a vacation place
Boy, would I love to get those damn things out and put one in my house. :|
yeah not really into the communal thing. dont think I would want to vacation there. unless of course you get reduceds rates for lack of privacy
Those add a new concept to your trademark "Lonely chair" shots.LOL)
LOL Maniac Mike. Not lonely tho - has its creepy brothers right there to keep company lol.
no privacy at all, i know i wouldn't want to have used these..
Fla.Gator your funny!!
Some of the funniest comments I've read in a long time.

<---- walks away singing "Getting to know you....getting to know all about you..."
There appears to be a ghost shadow for some wood stall framing above the toilets. When these buildings were taken for military use, those stalls might have been removed since the military custom at the time was for open toilets.
i bet on top of those pipes behind each toilet is where they would screw the light bulbs in. : )
Love those stacks coming out the back.

Must have been gold water tanks in order for them to have been stolen.
Those pipes would have been long gone here in the U.S., scrapped brass brings some nice dough.
The bathrooms in my nightmares have no stalls or broken seats. Weird that I've never seen bathrooms like this in real life until I came upon this site but the do exist. Freaky!
maybe the bathroom wasn't finished before they stoped building it.
A real lice of history---- it should be finished as intended and then used
to house students in a new education facility---as well as keeping history alive---lets be bold!!
I bet those were added in by the Soviets or East Germans after the war. They look like Eastern Europern toilets. Probably never had stalls around them.
There may have been stalls.

It seems like between the toilets (look two or three tiles in front of the toilets, and half way between every two toilets) theres sort of holes in the tiles... maybe where stalls were anchored. (Look near the bottom right of the picture lol)

I know its a poor explanation but its not easy to explain. Hahaha.
