Shallow

Shallow

This "canal" was once a dry passageway for the pushing mechanism; its primary function was to push the coke out of the ovens to the other side of the battery, and into a quenching car.

A great visual overview of the coke quenching process can be seen at the Pullman State Historical Site (although the process illustrated here would happen on the other side of the coke battery).

What a cool picture! Nice Motts!
A shot within a shot. You've only shot half of the image, however, you got the entire image. Wow!
Very nice!

I looks somewhat like a part of a map in the game Unreal Tournament 2004.... Unreal..
I keep trying to see the top half of the picture. My eyes want to know what is there.
During the cold season this is used as an ice-skating ring! Maybe you wanted to know that ;-)
I thought I saw a photo of that floating around, but wasn't sure. Very cool, thanks!
