Shaft

Shaft

This is from the top of the winch house, looking down into the shaft, which has been sealed with a giant cement slab. The rest of the winding tower is above us, but it was too exposed to climb in daylight during business hours.

The metal up here had been corroded pretty far through, and much caution was taken with each step.

Looks all barnicled-up,like a marine unit.

(p.s.; upon seeing this picture,and
before seeing the comment, I was

seen the movie] then say ; "nah, just kidding! boy!, did I get a surprise!!)
rusty much?
That looks dangerous and kind of creepy
I love the angle this has been taken from. The parallel and perpendicular lines give it a great feeling of despair and chaos! :D
That is Silent Hill! LOVE IT!
It looks almost like it is an oil painting.
Very eerie, but an amazing shot.

This makes me think that some horrible grey snake creature is going to slither up and engulf your camera.
