I think the angled parts on the walls make the room look sloped. It does make for a very interesting illusion.

It definitely doesn't look bigger, I agree with Lynne....very claustrophobic.

The slanted lines on the wall, and the circle look like maybe something was once there. Like a shelving unit that's been removed, but the outline still remains.

Jb, my thoughts too. It appears that something was attached to the wall and had been removed or fallen off. But what? I couldn't even guess.
