Danger Lurks Under the Surface

Danger Lurks Under the Surface

While skirting the narrow catwalks alongside the pit, it was difficult not to stare through the shimmering surface of the water, catching glimpses of submerged machinery.

haha is that a window frame? haha sunken threasure <3
To a degree, it seems to resemble the debris from a shipwreck. The lighting seems rather superb, just enough to highlight the area.
Thats amazing that you can see through the water like that... i would have expected it to be murky and more opaque. Makes a gorgeous shot though with all the colours, textures and movement, love it!
its the lost city of atlantis
Wow, great shot.
Lost things under water is seriously one of my greatest fears for some reason.
its the Titanic
Zara, I agree. Something about things underwater that SHOULDN'T be is just WRONG, especially when you can't see down into the water. Interesting that this is so clear. Deep, dark, abandoned pools, or any kind of water are always beyond creepy. Nice shot.
i agree with zara, i have no idea why but i've always found the same thing a tad creepy
I see two things lurking under there. Danger and a future tetanus shot.
creepy and beautiful all at the same time. only you motts, only you
Like a wishing well from Hell...wouldn't want to throw a coin in that one!
Wow this is a very powerful photo I really like it. Seems like a lost world or more likely were looking into our own future world perhaps....
Awesome shot Motts one of my fav's
There has always been something terrifying to me about things lurking underwater. What a fabulous capture Motts!
OMFG *insert lots of expletives here* I just curled into the fetal position and started crying. Maybe it's not a boat phobia as a water and submerged metal phobia.

Thank god for the Next Image link at the bottom of the page, is all I can say.
I can see a fish
Like a nightmare! Great shot!
this one i do like.
Am I the only one who sees some kind of comic face with a really big nose in there?? o_O
Too funny, I did not see a face but showed the picture to my husband because I thought it was cool and he kept asking me if I saw a face with a big nose!
I see the big nose, the eye and the ear...if more than one person has a vision that means it isn't an hallucination...right?
I sincerely hope so.
I can see two eyes, the left one even has a brow.
Somehow I can't figure out what this actually is, I mean all I can see is this face. What is that thing?
you gotta love that..wonder what it tastes like...
This one will give me nightmares. Good capture!
OMG I SEE THE FACE
*Whimpers*
The clarity of the water is due to absolute stillness. All the impurities have settled at the bottom. But don't drink that water anyway.
