I keep having to study the foliage in this one, I am quite taken with all the different depths in there!
interesting shot! Love the perspective!
This guy looks pretty healthy! Maybe the other one was sitting on eggs! :) I hope they're fine.

Beautiful shot!
This is probably the male.
Looks like a Raptor on the hunt for unwary photographers.
This takes one to a whole other place.
Magical.
LOL Canada...

Nice shot, Motts. I understand that these birds can be aggressive and are quite curious. Did that one try to approach you/your party at all?
Thanks, no they both held their positions, which was pretty far away from us. One one laying down was much closer and looked agitated, but didn't stand up or even raise its head.
Good thing too. She'd get up if you got too close. Usually when a female is on eggs like the one in the other picture, it's the main duty of the male to keep predators away. But believe me, the females can most certainly hold their own as well.
why would someone abandon an amusement park AND an ostrich!?!?!?!
Nice photo Motts. Happy neither of them tried to run after you at all. It is a shame that they were just left behind to take care of themselves. I hope someone takes them to a Zoo or something there. Happy Holidays to everyone!!! : }
beautiful shot. ostriches are kooky.
Someone feeds them theres food all over the ground in the other picture.
