Water was pouring into this ceiling-less room behind the door.

It's always interesting just how nature can reclaim these old abandoned places.
Another beautiful shot.
"Echo not the crumbling hall
as dampness weeps down mouldering wall."
Is somone peeing out a waterfall
very interesting when nature takes over, good shot.
I absolutely love these places where nature is reclaiming long abandoned property. They have an almost spiritual sense to it. They have become the subject of my art in the several years.
FYI- The ferns are just introductory plants.
Every year, as the winds shift, countless airborne seeds are carried to this ceilingless room, the wooden floor, door, and walls pack abundant nutrients, and those seeds, with enough water, will grow with wild abandon, reducing the wood into an even more fertile compost mix for other plants and trees.
this is a section of the building designed by the Boston architectural firm of Allen & Collens, best known locally for the majority of buildings on the Vassar campus in Poughkeepsie. though there Tudor additions were
considered apropos for the campus, a great deal of the buildings deterioration began here.
I love abandoned places where nature has kind of taken it upon herself to take over the property and move in, just like in this shot. Places where you get the feeling of being outdoors when you're really indoors. It makes me think of a courtyard on the inside of a castle or fortress.
The light from above makes it almost heavenly. Ah, at last, the door to Eden.
Bright. I thought it was a courtyard.

As they often conlude on Jersey's Z88.9 historical P.S.'s : "...and then the Pine Barrens claimed it back again..."
I thought it was a courtyard, or walkway as well.
you take amazing shots.

what kind of camera do you use?

i love pictures of abandoned places like this.
everything has a silence about it..
the best ones are the ones that look like someone just up and left.
Wow, I thought this was an outdoor shot. didnt realize it was a room
