Damn, but these amazing pics make me almost insanely sad. My mother worked at Bennet t for several years in the 60' - 70's and can't believe that the "powers that be" have shown such disinterest in this beautiful place and allowed it to fall to such tragic ruin. One of her duties was serving meals in the dining room and she recalls in particular how the girls regularly engaged in ice cream wars. They'd fling spoonfuls of the cold creamy stuff at each other from large bowls that were placed on the tables for dessert. Made quite a mess as you can imagine.

Wonder how many people went up those stairs.

Reminds me of my basement opposite the steps,the part i dreamt about near my drums for a few seconds this morning. I heard something creak upstairs.

Actually my basement is in fairly good condition except for that crumbly effect in the far end.

This is my old college and I went up and down that staircase a million times. This is sooo spooky to see. I wish I could find some of my old classmates---class of 1964.

The brick under the plaster is so vibrant here. The stairs look okay. Not falling apart. Guess they were built right.

If u haven't noticed - Millbrook has changed in the past 10 years Moveable Feast gone and also other businesses changed hands old town flavor gone - sad
