*Rub eyes* That can't be leaning like that or all the brickwork would be cracked. :o)
(....runs to grab the POOK bucket to hold out for Lynne.....). Geez. I may have to use it myself!! :-p. "Unsettling" might be a good word. This one is similar to that other one in "The Other Ward" (last gallery). Very Alice In Wonderland-ey.
Reminds me of a funhouse at Salisbury Beach years ago called The Wacky Shack or some name like that. One of the rooms had the same kind of tilty doorway effect, which wasn't good when you were wasted on Tango and weed.......bleargh...
So did it occur to anyone that the bottom hinge is loose? I guess that makes too much sense though.
And I wish this wonderful site attracted more intelligent commentators. Is "OMG I get a cookie!!!!!!!!!!!!11!!!" really f'***ing necessary every GD page?
Very obtuse looking. :)
When is a door not a door ? ........ When it's ajar ! !
wtf this is wonderful
Quinnifer : :-*....Hmmm. Yes, of course it occurred to people, but I can see by looking that you're rather new to this site (unless you've used another name). So.....just a (the tiniest-bit sarcastic ;-)) "FYI" for ya : many posters here have been enjoying looking at and commenting on Mr. Mott's great photos here for a couple of years or more, and simply like to take a break from their otherwise busy lives to have a little fun while they enjoy the galleries. I'll let you in on a secret, even (BONUS!) : It isn't always serious :-D. In any case, I'll just smile at your unnecessary rudeness and let you continue speaking for yourself (psst!....BTW, putting little stars in there doesn't make using that word any more classy). If you'll notice, most comments are about the photos, and most people here are quite polite, actually. If you don't like reading the comments, there is a convenient button, "i", at the top to hide them. You have yourself a peachy- keen day now :-).
hmmm, someone totally wanted out of that room!
Whoa.. wide angle lens? Or just.. trippy. Nice either way.
I like to read the posts before looking at the picture. Then I already have a picture of it in my mind...and yes, it does look like someone really wanted out of there...or really wanted whatever was in there...
What a shot! That door throws the whole picture askew! nvusofmotts.....can I borrow that pook bucket???
looks like it belongs in an M.C Esher print
It's having that "fun house" affect on me and I feel a little dizzy :) Great shot!!
Great contrast with the arch and the straight lines of the door, makes it look even more trippy!
nvousofmotts,

Thanks for the pook bucket - I really needed it for that shot. Much appreciated.

Also, you were much kinder to Quinnifer than I would have been, but that's OK. Maybe you'll help me learn to be more patient with people who barge onto a new site and feel the need to make unkind public comments about other posters.
nvusofmotts ,I couldn't have said it better !!!!!
My door is not is not a door when it's a jar.
looks like that doors been kicked in by someone. creepy
I agree with Quinnifer
I've found the posters here to be some of the most interesting and intelligent people I've encountered anywhere on the Internet. Some of the least interesting people are the ones who complain about the comments of others not being "appropriate" or whatever. If a person's time is so severely limited that it is upsetting to read a few short words written in fun, I wonder how they have time to be on the Internet at all. And no one forces anyone to read it. Just skip over it. But don't try to make the rules for everybody else (set up your own site if you want to do that). Also, the really smart people are usually the very last ones to question anyone else's intelligence or lack thereof.
I've been admiring Mr. Motts' fantastic photography for several years now mostly silently, and enjoy reading everyone's comments regarding the photos. Some of you guys (like Lynne and nvusofmotts) have been writing as long as I've been reading, and your posts make me feel like I know you! Not only do you guys make me laugh, but your comments always make me scroll back up to the top of the page to look at some other aspect of the photo that you've mentioned, and that I missed the first time around. Keep on keeping on guys! And Mr. Motts, you have an amazing eye, and amazing talent! Thanks for sharing it with us all!
+1 JoniG
I've been silently enjoying for a long time now and part of what I enjoy is reading the comments and looking for what others see in the photos.
Hear, hear!
I've only posted here a few times, but I gotta say, I love reading these posts. Like someone already said, usually I have to jump back up to the shot to see something I missed the first time. I find most of the comments witty and fun. While I love love love the pictures, the comments are half the fun of this site.
I totally agree.....for me, finding this site has not only lead me to some out of this world photos by Motts, it has satisfied my fascination of abandoned buildings, given me intelligent insight into asylums and history of pysciatric institutions and finally, made me feel like I am amongst friends.....I love reading cmments just as much as staring in awe at the photos. I hope everyone continues to comment, and people who dont wanna read, just DONT. Simple! best wishes to all
