Archway

I hadn't really explored or photographed much of the basement of this hospital building the last time around, so I spent a good amount of the morning down here.

I'm glad I did - fascinating patterns of mold covered the ancient walls in many shades of green and yellow, and old wooden shelves and maintenance equipment seemed to have been rotting away in the same spot for twenty or thirty years, ready to crumble at any moment.

The main basement here was quite clean despite the mold; many of the floors seemed to have been swept, and the abundance of windows shed enough light to see without a flashlight.

I love images like this... trying to imagine the stories that once unfolded here... echos from yesterday... expressions long since forgotten.
Wonderful journey. Thank you for sharing it.
This is definately one of my favorites. To think this once was probably very clean and pristine. Now it looks almost like a cave entrance. Also invokes the "What lies beyond?" question.
A brilliant picture!!!
