ok now thats an awesome picture i just love how nasty it looks with all the rust and the bottles and the bars eroding away
This is an interesting photo, I particularly like the rusty ceiling.
Reckon it would've been pretty scary for the guards doing their rounds in here, hoping all the cell doors were secured properly...
You would need 40 ounces to walk that hall every night, Poor Guards!
A hall to nowhere.
makes me clausterphobic to look at!
lol!
sumone had a lil party going there
The title puts Sublime in my head, but the shot is so melancholy! I bet the acoustics of even footsteps in here would be amazing.
You would think they'd make the hallways a little wider... It looks a lot like prisoners on either side would be able to reach into the middle.
I feel trapped, I don't like small places and that looks small at least, even if it's not.
Creepy picture but still briliant.
Are those bottles recent?
40 oz. to freedom!
Killer!
Happy times...?
I see the locals are having fun...judging by all of the empty beer cans.

It is very very sad to see such a historical building being so neglected and now inhabited by Crack Head and Winos.

I suppose you would have to be drugged or drunk to want to live in a empty prison cell.
drunk prisoners?????
were the doors of the old rollback design?
They moved horizontally across the wall, but all doors in a cell block could be operated with a single lever (see http://www.opacity.us/...02_door_controls.htm ) - so they weren't as old of a design as the ones in Eastern State Penitentiary for example - http://www.opacity.us/...atric_department.htm
looks like somebody had a good time. love the picture motts.
Musta been a good last meal
spine-chilling. it's amazing how it's rusty but to be there is nothing i'd long for
211 AKA Steel Reserve has been around since at least the 1990s.
Love the perspective mixed with the leading lines. Amazing photo. :)
