Peaked

Peaked

This small building, right on the water and near the powerhouse, seemed quite interesting. The peaked chapel-like windows were very unique in regards to the architecture of the other buildings on the island, and its location suggested its purpose as a morgue... it was difficult to be certain given the current condition of the structure.

I've read that the laboratory that Mary Mallon worked at was located in an old chapel, perhaps this is the very one.

Stunning! :)
Very cool!
The doors seem like they could be the same one, endlessly opening into the same room. Whoa
This is an absolutely breath-taking shot - well done!
if that's the case, Motts...you've stumbled on a piece of history...sad that it has degraded so much
brilliant
they are trying to get in!
I love that sunlight filtering in through the vines.
That was indeed the morgue & pathology lab. The inside of the fusebox refers to the buildings as "Mortuary Bldg", and the room with the rusted Shampaigne exam table was the cooler room - similar to CVH, there were no standard morgue trays but, rather, one big refrigerated room.

As to Mary Mallon, it's possible that this is the lab that she worked in, but there's no concrete evidence that I've been able to find one way or another.
Wow, those windows are stunning!
CREEPY. I cant believe riverside hasn't been used in horor movies. they're probably scared it will fall on there heads. I like to go here before i get old. If that is the lab Mallon worked in thats awesome. Visit my website on Mary Mallon at www.typhoidmarymallon.webs.com
