Postmortem

Postmortem

A beautiful table sat at a door leading out to the water; it looked like a regular examination table as opposed to an autopsy table, as there were no sluices or channels for fluids. The blue room behind it was interesting as well, as it looked insulated in some fashion; it might have housed a refrigeration unit.

I didn't get to really inspect these things in detail, as right after this shot is where I stepped out and spotted the patrol boat... and off we went!

Beautifal shot Mr. mott. This photo speaks volumes.

Annette, your comment is the perfect title for this picture !
Fantastic set Motts! And a great story as welll!! Thanks for sharing it!!!
To me some how this is by far one of the creepiest shots I have seen of yours. Even that crazy metal coffin from way back when. This picture just seems to be a novel unto itself. The history of the table, how it got there. It just gives me chills.
Thaks Motts! Glade you made it back safe and sound!
Fantastic! Thank you!
Great job Motts! thanks for the treats.
Truly remarkable photos, Motts! Too many to comment on. Love the theater and gym but this last one gets the gold medal. You've been here a few times, right? Didn't you get spotlighted by the cop copter here? Don't answer that. I'm sure that case is still pending. The canoe--I assume you ditched it in the growth?
Even in the shadow of death life will go on.
The cycle will continue. . .
Fantastic !! Motts Thank You as always

This was a great post up until this point - not because of this amazing shot, but because you didn't take a pic of the patrol boat...it would have been such a good pic to finish the story with...Oh well... ( of course I'm just teasing - this has been a great story to read and see...)

Looks like an old embalming table..
Maybe, they embalmed the bodies before they were taken away to minimize the spread of tuberculosis and other diseases. A very thought invoking image.
Great pictures as usual.

Thank you for this mini-vacation
My father was a vet of wwII and we lived on the island 1950-51 while he went to school. I was about 6or 7 at the time. I don't remember the hospital but I do remember the big home and the fence all around the island. I really enjoyed the pictures because they were well done and keep the history of the island alive.
i believe this is an ob / gyn table....speaking from my medical piont of view...could be wrong. Absolutely amazing pictures...I will be back often to check for more...you are very inspirational Motts...THANK-YOU!!!
I saw table from another photo someone else took. It didnt have the green leaves on it though. It was bare in the middle of the room.
