What an amazing bannister!
amazing no one goes to these places and takes these bannisters to use in a house
if u refinished these they would look awesome
Someone fire the maid please! Such a shame something like this goes to ruin, but it sure makes for some great photos!
its amazing the amount of craftsmanship that went into these building and now they are just rotting away....its so sad
That's a really beautiful staircase.
Nice balance of shape and lighting.
That banister is truly sweet!
Does anybody know if the bannister is made from wrought iron or wood?
Joel I think the bannister is made of Wood.
How beautiful...
i love this. love the stairwells. especially one so fancy.
Does anyone else see an almost complete face and head image on the second landing? The decay seems to make out a sinister image.
my favorite shots!! well done!
i love staircases just love them, i would love to have a copy of this particular shot if possible Motts please let me know ok.
Thats excatly what I want in my house, but soooooooooooo expensive
the craftsmanship in these old buildings is something you just don't see anymore. well, unless it's taken from a salvage yard or like this. just wonderful
There is a scary face image sort of on the second land. I see it.
Many times when they installed these magnificent bannisters, they would leave something - like a time capsule - in the newel post (that ball or square thing at the end of the bannister) in hopes that someone in the future would find it. Usually house plans or other documents pertaining to the property would be shoved in there. They're interesting to find.
Clean these up with some Liquid Gold wood polish and they would shine like a new penny.
