One of the few large residence-looking structures on the island.

Here's an old photo from 1937:

looks like an administration building
its insane how many trees have grown since the old photo. I cant get over the amount of shade on this building. Wow, its just a great photo with a very beautiful decaying building.
I'm sure that the place was beautiful at one time.
Always like the then and now shots.
Very cool, love the reclaiming of nature!
And here we can see one of the many Student Houses available at Miskatonic University..
Love the before/after shots Motts, thank you. I really like the way the building is in shadow but you can see the sun hitting the trees.
oh.my.GOD.
other than the windows the structure seems to be not so bad off.
is this an HDR?
I like it better with the trees. Looks like it would be a cozy building now if it was still in use.
Great photo as always....love seeing the before and after photos too....What a difference really....wow...Thanks Motts!! :)
I agree with C-Note. It must have look Beautiful way back then. As always love to see these beautiful photo everyday Motts. Thanks Again for the wonderful Gallery,
Just goes to show time's flow can be kind and it can be cruel
The before and after shots are always the best - can't believe it was once sitting in the wide open, and all nice and clean...
Vlose your eyes and picture a haunted house... this is what comes to mind. Ominous, decrepit, and foreboding
this is very nice. being surrounded and shaded by the trees that tower above.
More attractive now then in 1937!
Yerrk, that broken wood coming from the porch area in front looks like the legs of a giant spider. Haunted house looking indeed! I just love the architecture though, and those patterns with the stone. They don't bother with that now, especially for hospitals...
omg i love this one !!!! you FREEKIN ROCK!
just beautiful, wallpaper please..
This has to be the greatest web site I have ever found, thank you for your work -Steve
I think that it is so much more beautiful now then it was in its prime. Amazing the difference when absent of human presence.
i love how nature took over, it makes the building so much more beautiful
Oooohhh...wallpaper!!!
that just...amazes me.
great album!
Wow, it would beautiful if someone took the time and love to restore it!
Shoot - I'd move into it just the way it is, LOVE IT! Ghosts and all! A little paint, a few curtains, replace a couple windows and you'd have a fantastic home.
BEAUTIFUL!!! sort of a secret garden type building...hidden away....I LOVE IT!
Thats f****ing crazy
it's weird how much things change over the years...
before and after pictures are always interesting!
I really hope he went inside...
Very similar to precincts or fire houses.
I love the before & after pics. This place was once alive & beautiful. It's a shame it can't be saved and refurbished. But it would cost a fortune to bring it up to code.
I've seen hundreds of pictures on this site and never posted, but this one amazes me. Its almost eerie to see the power nature has to return things to its natural state.
