Xray Dept

Xray Dept

The x-ray department in this hospital was huge; some bases of old machinery were still laying around. I wonder how long these things have been rusting away if the hospital ceased treating TB patients so close to opening, if at all.

This object in the foreground looks like it might have been a table you lay down on with the imaging device on the arm above; in the back of the room appears to be a chest x-ray.

My co-workers and I both agree that it looks like an old "Bucky" table.
Love the low light in this one!
It looks like a kind of bath tub I would never use.
looks like you would get TB just from this machine alone
Motts, The device in the foreground was not an X-RAY table, It was in fact was a tank Used to develope the X_RAYS.
Addition to my last statement,
the removable tanks may have been removed.
Very creepy shot!
Hey motts, Did you find any small square metal containers in that room.
I have a smaller X-ray tank from 1902, that I use to develope my photographs, it looks remarkably similar.
Interesting but old x-ray equipment. Plus this room looks bad too.....well it has been sitting empty for sometime now......
...and more of those horrible, depressing tiles. Wonderful shot.
that is something i would never lay on if you even paid me.....creepy
looks like a sarcophagus.
Wow, that thing is archaic! Neat angle, almost looks like it was dropped on top of already decayed debris.
You have a really wonderful job. I love your camera and your perspective of shots. You are a true artist.
this looks like the worst room in the place, it's the most decayed.
Motts, I sure hope you get your tetanus shots when going through places like these.
Motts, I don't mean to sound like a giggling school girl, but these galleries fascinate me to no end. What I find particularly interesting about this set is how well this facility has held up over the decades given the fact if closed in 1963.
