Lightastic! Hey! a new word for me!
This just HAS to be a wallpaper! It's awesome!
That clock tower is stunning!
Yes, wallpaper please!
That would be a wicked horror movie exterior clip!
Looks like an old Italian castle.
I agree with both Ari and Lexusdreams... like a castle from a horror movie, lol

Motts the colors are breathtaking! Phenominal! (not sure i spelled it right...hehe)
amazing....that is all I can say....just an amazing shot
wow, i would have never thought that this was a hospital, i had to make sure i was reading my screen right that it said hospital
Motts Did it again. Beautiful Gallery. Keep it up.
The building (and photo) are simply amazing, beautiful. Words cannot describe my anger that this complex is being torn down. At least the facade of the clock tower will remain to overlook the city.
Cue in the "Sweet Mother of God" phrase.

This is by far my favorite shot in this gallery [besides the infrared one of course].
Have you seen any ghosts?
cool pic, could almost be a miniature model
If all those windows could just open their eyes!
Hey kids, it's not the horror, it's not even really the false history that we were given about these old wonderful places. It's what they are. a monuement of another time that has been preserved by a talent who had the forsight to memorialized them before the throw away American's could destroy them and make a profit. You be a good man. Motts.
Thats' a good cast
nice shot!
but kinda reminds me of the clock tower at my favorite ps game, resident evil, hehe..
Magnificent!

wow very col, puts off a creepy vibe, great shot!
Hi y'all! Hope everyone had a great weekend! I went up to the old Kirkbride Administration building at WSH. It looked so sad, strange, and lonely there by itself. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see that they left one of the rotonda buildings standing by itself. It was the one to the left of the administration building. Also, further down the hill, to the left appeared to be another old stone building, possibly the nurses' residence. I was also happy to see that some of the doctors' old brick houses were still standing, far over to the left at the bottom of the hill. Some appeared to be boardered up. The newer psychiatric hopital was still there and in operation, called the Bryant Building I do believe. However, the REAL shocker was that to the right of the old admin, there is massive construction being done to build a large, new psychiatric hospital. I'm sure it will be modern and state of the art, but I wish they would build the old "castles" again.
In my mind's eye, WSH too looked like a "castle" to me. As a kid, we were always taking walks on the property. There was a beautiful grove of pine trees below the Kirkbride admin building. I remember when I was younger walking under those pine trees and looking up, I could see this magnificant castle...I felt like I was in "Sherwood Forest", in a beautiful ball gown, waiting for my handsome prince in the castle...so romantic! : ) That was always my fantasy!
