Very menacing shot. Like a town rising from the depth of Hell ready to take away your soul.

yes, wallpaper - for my whole house !
The Addams Family mansion had nothing on this place . . .
now that would make an awsome wallpaper
What are you talking about? It looks like the innocent little house on the hilltop. O=)
Would that be the innocent looking little house next to the Bates Motel? ;-)

Looks like the little house on the prairie to me.

So, where's John-boy?

Have movie peeps ever used the place?

AWESOME! How did you get the sky to look so...spooky?? Very Halloween-y.
I live in the Worcester area and have driven up to look at this. It is as menacing as it looks on film. At night it is eerie, you can almost feel the horror of what happened behind those walls.
Totally Awesome!
Architect
What a shame its gone.
Now thats' funny : *"wallpaper- for my whole house" heh, heh
Motts you take such amazing photos have you ever done any from the Oregon State Hospital, where they filmed one flew over the Cookoo's nest? I know a big portion of the building has been closed for years, just curious....
Unfortunately no... I hope to get to visit the Salem hospital before it gets razed.
My Dad's sister was confined here. He would go get her on holidays and bring her to our house in Walpole. She couldn't wait to get back there. I always found THAT a little creepy
i was just interested when i started reading about the hell places, but when i take a look at this pic it seems that it covers alot of the horrible stories inside the famous building!
