Great Gallery!! Thanks Motts!
Ah clowns scare me!!!!
Thanks for this gallery Motts
sick gallery motts. <33
Thanks again Motts!
I must say, I think that this gallery holds claim to some of the best photos on the site. Just brilliant - and what better finish than a creepily simple painting of a clown on a door?
clowns are scary, why do they always have them in mental hospitals? to scare the shit out of the patients? if so, that must be the bathroom.
"We all float down here..."

Thank you for the tour, and for doing what you do!
I dont htink the clown is scary atall. Ive never been scared of clowns! But then ive never seen IT the clown, and many people have!
Amazing gallery Mr. Motts! It's too bad the site is gone now, but at least it will live on through your work.
Since so many people don't like clowns, maybe we can pretend that was the clown treatment room!
"Give US a Hug!"
As I've said before. "I HATE CLOWNS!!!!!!"
Sweet Set as always!
that is the nicest looking clown i have seen in your albums. thanks motts for making my day sooo much better!
It's almost cute.
Thanks for another wicked gallery, Motts.
You da man!

"SCARY CLOWN!".....Hammy from Over the Hedge. Thank you for an awesome gallery Mr. Motts
I don't like clowns at all they are Creepy. I argree with Joe. Thanks Motts for AWESOME GALLERY. Keep up the wonderful Gallery Motts.
That clown is enough to make anybody loose it. Thanks for the excellent gallery Motts!
Motts,
you never cease to amaze me! TY!
EEEWWW! (buries face in hands). (Please pre-excuse a tiny bit of "yelling"..It just h a s to be done this time...;-0.)...WHY WHY WHY are clowns always found in these places (other than after-the-fact grafitti), having been put there by some misguided soul to "make it a little nicer"???? Clowns ARE NOT, and have NEVER been, FUNNY! They are not "CUTE", they are not "CHEERFUL", and they most certainly don't "BRIGHTEN" a room..... ANYWHERE!!!!!! (takes a breath). Do a n y of you, or anyone you've ever MET (who wasn't weird ;-)), actually think clowns are "adorable", "whimsical", or otherwise pleasant? Clowns, in any form, should be banned from the planet...(OK, don't worry, I'm already reaching for a "chill pill"....). Sorry, but I simply don't see what painting these hideous creatures on ANYthing does to "improve" anything....Ok, I'm going away now...
Reminds me of the douche bag clown we saw after perusing the tunnel at the shithole broad acres..
*shudder* Saving the best for last, Motts?

Aside from that, great gallery!
great gallery motts!!!
lol nvusomotts. i hate clowns too, but i'm glad you have those chill pills handy ;)
Steph: Oh, you HAVE to rent/see "IT". Old-fashioned creepy (the movie's old) but ..geez....(shudders). And I'm not a wimp :-0..:-)....just hate clowns.
Sweed: Certainly :-). What color would you like? :-).
Motts: What was in this room? Looks like a regular patient room with the tiny window. Wonder why they used those gross colors..yuck.
Its funny to see how many people on here hate clowns. I am also terrified of them... but oddly enought i dont mind Pennywise (the clown from IT) .... i think its just cuz i love Tim Curry and really cant be afraid of him... i dunno... Ronald McDonald scares the ever loving crap outta me though.
Thanks again Motts, cant wait for more!
I'd actually be hoping to see something of Central Islip for quite a while - although it was well before my birth, my great-grandmother was diagnosed with schizophrenia and institutionalized here, sometime in the 1960s, and remained there until she died. The family tried as best they could to care for her, but eventually she attacked her husband - believing him to be someone or something else - and they had no choice but to send her here.
Thanks for the gallery Motts.....look forward to many others.....I like clowns but not this one....ugh......
Huggles the clown is CUH-REEPY!!!!! Why is the paint all around it crumbling away, yet it is still in such good condition! EEEK! =O
oh, I'm all cheery and everything and all..

..and I'm not SMOKING!
Great pictures! Good work!
Thanks for the fabulous gallery! These clowns, however, scare me more each time!!!
Thanks for an amazing gallery. Great photos.
i dunno, i kinda think da clown is cute
Looks like the killer clown from the movie "IT"!
Very nice gallery man!
Another amazing set of photos Motts, Keep the great work coming!!
): It almost looks, hm, tired. As if it's been waiting there for some love for so long... Looks like it was happy to see someone again.
The real creepy thought for me is that this thing is on the inside of the door and some crazy person just stared at it 24/7, maybe while holding a stuffed racoon and waiting for medicaion time...
Call me crazy but clowns in a mental health facility is just so...Never mind, medication time fellas.
It is for violent people to "Punch the Clown" in a controlled environment.
AHHH!
I don't like clowns.
Wonderful photos! I've spent the last few days looking at them (in fact, I even left a meeting at work early to go back to my office to fit in one more set).
I don't know how I didn't find this site sooner - I look at my internet life as Life Before Motts and Life After Motts. :)
Thanx for another great gallery Motts. But it was a pretty stiff architecture at this place.
yeah, it might look like the clown from IT, but has it got those evil teeth too?
i hate clowns!!!!:( but great pics! love em
Gahhh! That's one freaky clown. [Like there's any other kind, but y'know.]

Great gallery, Motts.
oh snap!!! that looks like some children's hospital room...its the same as the racoon teddy bear!
Motts, you're the best! I stay hours and hours on your website.

Please domwload this song :
Amon Tobin - At The End Of The Day
Amon Tobin - Straight Psyche

And you listening to this when you are looking to the gallerys...it's awsome!

Thank you again Motts!
Makes me sad but great photos.
Great gallery hun! Yet again you have exhausted my vocabulary and sent me on an emotional rollercoaster
jeebus, I hate clowns. they're so creepy....
Both my grandmother and great-grandmother worked in this center for 30 year each. My great-grandmother was beaten very badly by a patient causing her retirement. My grandmother retired in the mid-80's. She has wild stories to tell about this place!
i went to NYIT from 2001 to 2005 which up until 2005 occupied/owned many of the hospital builidings. I lived in a dorm that was once a nurses dorm which was just south of the sunburst center. while i attended NYIT at this campus, they used only half of the sunburst center for classes and a library. some good stories here.
That clown would kill me if I hugged him.

"I love you Mr. Huggles>"

'I love you too. Relax. You won't feel a thing."

*stabs the back of the neck with butcher knife.*

"There now. Have fun in Hell, you fucked up bitch."

Yeah, I hate clowns.
It sux that they ttore this place down...except for the fire house (oddly) I live a block away from this eerie place and feel strange when i walk by it.
:O Oh god!!
amy , why dont you tell us some of the wild stories, pleeze mami?
Must of been a children's room, yea know play room.So just to show that and calm the children they put the clown there. It's quite scary actually ahaha.
haha the caption is great :)
He's so cute-I want to give him a hug! : )
EVIL CLOWNS!
Why is it that the clown that are intended to be very un-scary have the creepiest effect?
Incredibly evocative series of photographs - brilliant work. My great-aunt was a nurse there in the 1930s. The place may not have been as dilapidated, but I bet it was every bit as eerie, and maybe moreso, as it wouldn't have been silent...
lets see stuff that isnt allowed bec i have went to skool there and i can tell u ppl that it is wat it seid it is i would lik to know what type of treaments did they do there and where are the padded room at
