It looks as though the cardboard pieces are cut in the shape of balloons - I wonder if anything was attached to them, or if they were a part of a larger theme on the wall?
LOL, i thought of balloons also
love the composition - perfectly balanced
Wow, that government blue paint. Balloons make the shot though. Well done.
The color's are really impressive. red chair, bright blue, the cardboard, and darkness beyond the door.... very nice.
great shot
For a minute, I thought those were waffles that had been thrown by an angry inmate and never rescued! Sorry, I've been awake for 32 hours....
Bet they were made during craft time.
Very Cool Gallery Motts.
"We all float down here."
this look like the other side of room where other chairs were .. smoking permitted maybe this is a lunch room for staff , tables could just be missing
such a sad photo
apocalypta I thought the same thing! lol...

the balloons probably had more color and just faded over time... very sad
that dark door caught my eye that is awesome
OMG !!!
I recall Stephen King's movie/book "IT" .... "They all float...and you will float too..."

(Kind of)
I love those chairs! Very Eames Era(ish).
I think the balloons were for birthdays, there are 12 balloons, 1 for each month?. We had the same kind of thing in preschool.
Yes Canadian Chick i think you're right about the birthday thing. Balloons always remind me of little souls floating up and up.
I see copper screens for my pipe.
And matchsticks to light it.
And a concert kit to store it.
Into the black....up, up & away!
Yeah, I'm sure all the patients "floated away" with the medications they were given.
I NEED those chairs!
But you can smoke!
wierd.
I want those chairs!
I'm amazed they are still up there, makes you wonder what they used to stick them up there...crazy glue? LMAO, I just couldn't resist. It was sooo there! I couldn't help it
My family all worked here and growing up I made many trips inside during parties for the patients, I remember sitting in those chairs..this brings back so many memories.
