I can't decide exactly what those objects on the right-hand side of the photo are - they're sort of like a strange lamp-hair dryer hybrid.
is that the electric couch (instead of the electric chair that is)
Might those be the hair dryers that you commonly see in salons? You know, the type that goes behind the chair and bends over the person sitting in it..?

And i'd like to say..Hey Mr. Motts!! I sadly got away from the forum and the site in general, but i'm trying to get back on this great place more often now. And i remember i said[i believe..] i was just going to be taking a short leave of absence...heh, yeah, minor underestimation. Sorry about that one.
Yup those are old hair dryers from the 50s-60s eras.
Wow, "Smoking Area", there's something you do not see any more. Cool hairdryers. Aren't those the kind they use in horror flicks to electrocute someone?
I like how small the signs is for the smoking area. In most places here in Canada you can't smoke in any public buildings.
Those may look like hair dryers, but they are really high voltage mind control devices used to torture the patients.
the this one Motts.
Love it Motts. Favorite Gallery.
I love it, smoke and get your hair done at the same time....what will they think of next!
oh Man!!! Love this!!! I can just picture one of my wacky friends in their crazy vintage clothes sitting on that couch smoking, OOOoo with a bee hive too!
maybe they make your hair both dry and glowing
why is the paint only peeling close to the ceiling? thats kinda weird
Kinda outdated don,t you think.
That is so creepy what would you do if you really saw a ghost one time???
Those really are some high tech portable soap dispensers complete with an on/off switch. Nice to see the evolution of the soap dispenser documented here. These may have even come equipped with a light.
Those two units are conferring with each other.
New here...your pics are fab! Pretty cool getting the do-style and enjoying a smoke at the same time! Or, does this imply that your hair will start to smoke while under the dryer?
NOW WE HAVE COMPUTERS PLUGGTHEM IN AN THEY ZAPPPPPPPP YOU AND SEND YOU TO THE GREAT LAND OF MOTTS WHERE WE LOOK FOR OR OLD ABANDONED HOMES WHO ARE GOING TO THE BUILDIG HEAVENS IN ALL OF OUR HEARTS
The paint closer to the cielling is newer. The person that did the last paint job did not have a ladder.
Actually, it's the layer of nicotine from the smoking area holding the pain on the wall! Drying your hair and smoking...these people had the life HA!
Oh god....
i want a floor that color. i do like that color.
A great set of images, and a good question about the peeling paint! Could it be that the paint is only peeling where the shadows are cast on the wall? Check out the slight slope of the shadow compared to the peeling paint......almost identical? There is obviously a window to the left, my thinking is that the small amount of (indirect) light hitting the wall kept it free from damp. The paint is starting to peel bottom left too just to back up this thought.....sound feasable?
That couch looks like it's in surprisingly good condition. I bet if it was washed off and dried out it would be almost good as new.
I like how the couch is in pretty good condition, yet the paint is peeling on the wall
I'll be politically correct and say...little people go to the right.
there soap despencers
its better then living under a bridge full of maggots, thats were there all at now, homeless. Im sick of everyone feelings sorry for these people. At least they were getting help, now that there is no institutions they are left to rot in the streets. Poor patients, give me a break .
i dont think its a good idea to smoke and get your hair dried at the same timee... it just seems like a bad idea to me.
