Pale Ghosts of the Ward

Pale Ghosts of the Ward

There were many long corridors of handle-less doors here.

Hi Motts: Thanks for the 'new' gallery of pictures.....I still have many old galleries to look through yet....Hope you have many more 'new' ones to post for us. : )....oooh....many white doors.....wow....
Great to see a new gallery. I grew up about 20 minutes from this place. I have lots of old postcards of CI. I would be happy to share them if you are interested.
Nice set, Motts!
Very clean presentation Motts.
Lovely place to spend your life, hotdogs or no.
Awesome new gallery.
Handle- less doors? I want em!
Open Sesame?
Looks really familiar. I always found it sad when those who were confined, usually when they didn't have a choice, were forced to simply watch their world go by within a confined space. I'm in no way comparing those confined to state penitentiarys to those who were locked away in mental hospitals, but you do get a sense of what that must have been like...To be locked away for twenty three hours away without access to the outside world. Wow, boggles the mind.
Wow, I'm really excited for this gallery!
This hallway looks so...sterile.
Amazing.
Wow! I used to go to NYIT which was CI State Hospital and I can tell you that the abandoned buildings on campus were very creepy. Thanks for the pics
Ive been looking for this place... I thought nothing was left of the psych wards.. =0
I like visiting CI to, although of course my first preference in my little obsession..Kings Park. My mother has a story or two about this place as a family member checked herself in for treatment many years ago when my mom was a teenager.

What is really sad is that alot of people didn't even realize what they were missing. In places like this, time tends to stand still.
Okay tom...did you and your friends open those doors?it's kinda spooky
They say that the eyes are windows to the soul well those windows in the doors are kind of small.
I'm struck by the starkness of the white doors and the emptyness of the hallways.
Interesting that the floors are still virtually clean. Really great shot Mr. Motts
i love you ghosts
These are my favorites! Wallpaper? Please?
Don't tell my husband, but Motts, I think I love you ;). More with each gallery!!
this place is in good shape
i worked at c i state hosp. from 1972 until 1986 at the corcoran building as well as lived across the street so many memories so much history
i was in good sam hosp bay shore in 1963 and had nurses who were trained at c. i. t.g. i'm not crazy or dead!
Does anyone know if this place allows you to film inside it? Like, can you obtain a permit, or do you just have to try your luck?
