The contrast of the symmetric criss-crossing wires against the spontaneity of the peeling paint is a bit stunning. And once the viewer is past that, the seeming endlessness of the hallway is equally intriguing. Perfect.
A patient's view i would imagine :(
Nice textures! It makes me want to touch my screen.
Ugh. This reminds me of my first night on suicide watch in a psych hospital...
that would drive me crazy only having that tiny window to see when i would get fed or something....
Motts u take wonderful photos.
::waves:: Hi Motts! I stumbled upon your site about a month ago, and this will be my first posted comment. I have lived in San Diego, CA my entire life and... ancient (abandoned) buildings such as these are non-existent around here. I have ALWAYS been extremely intrigued by them, but never, ever have I seen such an AWESOME collection of photographs. I couldn't decide which one I wanted to post my comment under! heh. I'm going through every single gallery you have, reading every tidbit of history you post, and all the comments... errr... all the comments that don't give me a headache. O_o
Lynne's are my favorite, she's so knowledgeable... and snarky! I love it.
And, you bet your ass I have one of your wallpapers up on my computer here at work. Dual monitors - double the pleasure! :)
I just had to finally say something about how incredible your site and all of your pictures are.
Thanks!
makes you wonder about the eyes that once peered into this glass or the fingernails scratching at the glass in order to get out
-=shiver=- scratching fingernails at the glass.... creepy, thanks joe, lol.
i love the cracking in the paint!
That's what patients saw...
Come...........I'll make you fissures of men...
So close & yet so far. Fabulous shot! The contrast in your photos never ceases to amaze!
THAT'S WHAT THE THE PATIENTENTSWATCHTED
ERROR ABOVE THE PATIENTS WATCHED THE PAITNT CRACK OR HELPED IT.
One word, Motts:

W.A.L.L.P.A.P.E.R.
i loooove the texture
Wow, Jenn, me too. xD I've been stuck here in San Diego all my life, and it's so... *shrugs*

Since I can't run off to see these places for myself, at least I can view these lovely shots from the (dis)comfort of my home. :)
The blurry background makes me feel like something is going to suddenly appear on the other side of the window, for some reason. Eerie
Great one!!
cracks in the paint are the best part.
I love shots like this, closeups of tiny windows with a view of what's beyond. Fantastic.
I'm waiting for the Terminator to walk down the hallway.
No wonder so many people were dying to break out of these places...
I feel like I'm actually looking through that window, kinda strange and claustrophobic but it's a really cool shot!
At the far end it appears as though someone is sitting in a wheelchair with their head bowed...
Great shot. Feel like we are looking through the window.
wow.Just wow.
