Now that is pretty neat. I really like this picture.
Now it looks that is frozen over with some solid ice...did they leave the pool filled, or did it just flood this much to nearly fill it to the brim?
Bridge? No no...we always got in trouble when we tried to walk on it!
Strange to see all the loungers just stacked up where they were left at the end of the final season. I wonder what all the people who once worked and stayed at this place would say if they could see it now. Derelict holiday resorts always have a strange kind of melancholy for me just because you know that so many happy summers were spent here and childhood memories made that are still precious to this day.
you could go on the bridge. you just had to do it at night and it helped if you lived in one of the small cabanas... the doors in the background.
Omg, this shot it totally amazing. In fact, i think that this hotel totally amazing. If not for the graffiti in the pool, it's as if life in this hotel froze in an instant and remained that way untouched (well almost) until today.
Bbbbbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!
Who's up for a swim? :D
I wish they still made things as beautiful as this. You never see this kind of attention to detail anymore...
It so nice it looks like something in a dream.
I should show this picture to my Condo Board and convince them to remodel our pool with a bridge like this.
BACK IN THE 80S WHEN I WORK SOCIAL STAFF THE POOL WAS ONE OF MY NIGHT SPOTS, I WOULD BRING MY FEMALE GUEST HERE WHEN THE POOL WAS CLOSED AND SHOW THEM A NICE TIME.
LYNNE...TOMS at it again!!!!!!!!
I think it was finally after the 423rd comment that I snapped . . . . . .
I am not at it again. I was told back in early march to cool my jets. I have been tip - toeing on this site.
I know, and you have done a great job! :-)
Thanks Lynne.
I wonder why they put that bridge there if you couldn't go on??!! I guess for aesthetic purposes. Tom Tom told me what it was for, but I ain't tellin!
Must have really been a nice place at one time. Looks like everyone just picked-up and left.
I almost drowned there, thats when I was given my swimming lessons.
The pool is porb totaled from the ice expanding.
All I can think is... board park!
Tom Tom, is there any place in this motel you didn't get it on w/ the female guests? Ewww.
Tom Tom.... Could you please just have a little respect.... PLEASE? There are people here to enjoy this nice site. It is not respectful of you to the site or the other people on the site for you to be consistently vulgar and insistantly vulgar. Nobody cares about your sex life or wants to hear about it. Do you discuss these things with your mother? Your daughter? The lady checking you out at the grocery store? Think!
Sorry, Sincerely. Tom Tom really is a good guy. I miss him terribly! Where are you TT, you need to defend yourself!
Tom Tom is dead on accurate about the pool at night !!
Thats such a great pool.
Its the "bridge over troubled water"
In the Hotel Advertising from the mid 60's it shows people lounging on this bridge.. False advertising? Hey Tom Did you stay in the hotel business after The Pines?????? With your experience in customer service im sure you are highly sought after ....LOL
If I am vulgar!!! You must be a Nun!!!!
Hi everyone! I am back!!!!
Get over it.. If Tom Tom wants to share his memories im more then glad to read them. Tom Tom there aint nothing your going to say to make my ears burn... Still waiting for your responce....
It looks like a penguin enclosure at a zoo.
OMG! Tom Tom is back! I just saw that! Sweet man of my dreams, PM me. I have missed you so!
I think this Tom Tom is an imposter. He would have put his comments IN ALL CAPS!
Looks like fun.
I finally am breaking down and posting. I stayed and worked at THe Pines during 1974-1978. I would love a phone or key(do have 2 forgto to give back) for memories. As for the pool. Many mid night swims. the indoor pool use to open at nights for mid night swms.
This is really wierd. It's like De ja vu. I swam here 11 years ago, as a little kid....
is that part operational?
Hi!!! I am back!!!
Tom Tom if you are back, please send me a sign! Even if it is a smoke signal!
I think its' a scream when Tom Tom does that.
Son I will be back. Every thing is fine.
You turned me into a nun Tom Tom. You didn't know what you were doing when we got it on at the pool back in the 80's. Therefore, I am nun now. Thank you.
now that it is summer the chairs are no longer there stacked up they alow paint ball tornamemts there now every thursdays and sundays its a shame i went in there and now the pool is filled with dirty water and there are all the chairs thrown in there its a shame what these people have done the jewish cant burn it down they wont allow it. i think they should just leave it. or mabey they should make it a homless shelter. its a shame what the jews are doing just because they need more property.
It's weird to see a frozen pool...
One Usually associates them with swimming, not Charlie Brown.
a winter wonderland
Pool? or an ice rink?
That pool must have been pretty cold, right?
High arc for a bridge
I'm rather confused!
is it a pool but frozen?
i ice skate alot in england but i have busted my bum and mum just sits and laughs then she bust her bum...it would be rather crazy if some one stuck there toung to it though!!!
i dare someone to do so...jk
Rather bad ideal..i have done so to a piece of ice and i pulled it off and my toung started bleeding...i cried and ran to mum to fix it!! turns out you cant put a bandaid on it...lol
I totaly agree with TOMTOM what he say. TomTom you DUDE??????
cencerrly get a life! Just scroll down to the next post if you dont want to read tt this is for everyone you know! but YOU don't have to read it ! Most of us want to know everything that went on here in its hat day!
Rumor has it Fish are in that pool...
My friend named her fish "STD".....soon to die. Once my cousin left fish in an old kiddy pool and they lived for a couple months in there, no food (or so he said). Anyways, looks like a fun pool.
I found a site with color pictures of The Pines back in the 70's check it out. There are pics of the pool as well as other areas

@kristi
A) Those were some pretty rude comments about Jews
B) What's the use of a homeless shelter in the Catskills? That's just stupid. Homeless shelters need to be in urban areas, you know, so homeless people can actually get to them
C) Why do you want to shove the homeless into crumbling, asbestos-filled death traps? That's not very nice...
tom your the man nice to hear ppls stories what happened here back then ppl need to get over it let it rip man !!!!!1
