that looks like a really tiny door to get through
is that like a sliding door with the wheels above? if it is, that is crazy!!
NOW THIS WOULD BE GREAT AS A WALLPAPER!!
I love that door!
That door is very strange, the whole place is strange!
Same door I could imagine have horses behind. Psych patients as cattle?
This is definitely one of my favorites from this set. I love it.
Thats one ward I wouldnt want to work in.
Hey My Door Says The Same Thing!!!!
It's like you're expecting an evil looking mental patient, smiling like the joker, to come creeping around the door with a love me jacket on..

Great shot Motts!
I love the blue in the background. It looks menacing.
Those pipes make it even more creepy!
love the faded sign. motts you're a photographer i inspire to be! its the decrepid places that have the most character, they just reek in history and a wandering mind can imagine some of the wonders and horrors the inhabitants of such places have been subjected to.
It might say Psychiatric Department on the door, but don't think that their goal is to help you, Muahahaha! I would not trust the people behind that door...nope.
Nah, I didn't get to go there.
Woah. Something about all that white is so...nautical.
What stories lie beyond the rolling door.......
How much do you charge for this room, please?
Oh, Creepy... 0.0

...The pych ward... .___.
Reminds me of the "doors" in the hostel movies.
oh man.. this shot gave me the chills.
my fav so far:)
i gotta get some sliding doors like that
the predasessor to the sliding door. these types of doors were probably easier to maintain. imagin opening a normal hinge door that many times? they wear out pretty fast. plus take into account current prison facility doors and how they too slide closed rather than swinging open.
The likely reason for the doors of this type is that at the time technology for doors expecting high use were limited to those found on barns. So someone's comment about horse stable doors are quite correct. The only thing I would be concerned about would be the lack of obvious attachment of the bottom of the door to anything...one bright patient and out they go through the flap-like door
WALLPAPER PLEASE PLEAAASE!!
This looks like it could be the door to my brain!!!!
Scariest...psych dept...EVER.
Fantastic shot!!!
