Don't blame you after that last shot.

How did you take this photo Motts it's wonderful. I feel like I'm looking at a photo from the 1800's. I hope you tune this into a wallpaper. Its so simple yet powerful to. A perfect shot.
I second canada, on everything
also it would make a good card to send your parents on their aneversery with the quote "may you stay together this long"
Motts, is this another of your phenomenal
infrared shots?

It's extremely sad, if taken in the context that
the family may not have had either enough
money or education to put more than simply
'Mother' & 'Father' on the markers.
this immediately reminds me of phantom of the opera. I think it's the ending cemetery snow scene
Beautiful!

Time for some fresh heir? ;-)
Fresh heir! LMAO!

Super shot Motts!
yup it would make a great wallpaper and card!
Oh jeebuz jeebuz I love this shot!
Wow. Beautiful stones. Too bad most cemetaries today use ground-level plaques they can mow over......:-(.....
I love the card Idea
So many good shots, so many wallpapers....which to shoose...??
Wow. Thats depressing.
This is my favorite Photo Motts.
Yes, time to resurface. What a statement this shot makes! Side by side for eternity!
What a hauntingly beautiful shot!
like Canada said, it looks like a photograph from the 1800's - beautiful color
dust in the wind
Mother, Father, the names for God in the minds of all children.. Wonderful shot.. Great tinting..
Awww... together forever.
I feel so alone! I want my mother!
This is beautiful.
my parents said they were just
going to the pub? that was fifty years ago? thats them alright they always planned to have these headstones?
great photo
Wallpaper, please.
how descriptive
i've seen many victorian/jacksonian graves that simply say "mother" and "father" in pairs in old graveyards. how sentimental....
and how.
How eerie !
Just like a movie.
You can feel it.

Common in 19th C cems. to have stones
that read things like "Father" or "Our Son"
or simply "asleep"
SkedAddled, Maybe the single words were more than enough, they would be for me and my husband.
I noted how the leafless bough tends to cover what would be "chin whiskers" and "thinning hair" on Father's stone. While Mother's stone is clean and daintingly free of such. Speaks volumes.
LOL
Mine's gonna read
"Peek-a-Boo!"
Oh great pictures, looks like it was taken from around the turn of the century.
Poor mammy and pappy :(
beautiful, yet eerie.....
Did you ever find out who these people were or who they were the parents of?
... and is that another grave behind it?
It's as if they are holding hands together forever. Think of the first time they met. Think of their wedding day. Think of their first born child. Think of all they went through and saw together. Think of the funeral when the first died. All that living. How would they have known they would be together for all eternity? Very sweet.
@Larry-Love your commentary about the past lives of these two devoted souls. It is interesting to think back on how their lives must have been, and how they have come full circle into heavenly eternity. Life passes by so quickly...we need to treasure each moment. Hope everyone out there has a warm and wonderful Thanksgiving! : )
It looks very antique. The headstones give the shot serenity and mystery. Impressive!
Beautiful
