Lot

The last time I would see this building, as it was demolished in 2007; the adjacent building is being renovated for re-use.

great set of photos Mr. Motts. Sure is a shame they tore it down.
Great set, Motts! Shame she had to be demo'ed.
This building looks very similar to a certain death trap in Philly, known as the Beury Building.
Very nice set, i haven't commented here in a while, and this set caused me to (mainly because of the comments, but hey, it still did)

To: Cyber
it got renovated, not demolished
Once again a nice set Mr. Motts!!
Great set Motts, You never cease to amaze me with the composition of your shots. Always "Eye Candy"
Awesome Awesome Awesome!

Your details in each photo still amaze me. I feel like I have been there with each picture!
Excellent work again :)
As beautiful as it was, it's very saddening that such a delicate work of architecture was torn (or imploded) to pieces
Thank you Motts, another really great set!
Thanks Motts!
Great pictures as always!
you brought some cheer on my rainy, dreary day Motts :) hehe.... thank you
Superb set! Far more grand on the inside than the outside. Stunning set!
Thanks Motts again for another great gallery.
And this jewel of a photo set has just been sitting in your archives for 3 years waiting to be edited and posted....

wow. wonder what else you've got that hasn't seen the light of day yet.
Amazing that even from this distance, you can see the intricate details put in to make the building that little bit more interesting to the passerby. There looks to be a circular window up top, and I wonder now what special room (or hallway) that window was a part of. Too bad I'll never get to know.
Thanks!
Cool pics!
Great Gallery Motts! Look forward to seeing more!
Awesome place and photos. This reminds me a little of the abandoned hotel in the movie "See No Evil". Does anyone know where that was shot?
Great gallery! It was a pleasure looking over your work once again :)

Keep it up, Mr. Motts!
Just to clarify - the tall building was demo'd... and trust me, it needed to be torn down. The actual Hotel sterling still stands and it is still vacant. I live just down the street from this hotel.
i live right by that hotel and news flash its still standing they never tore it down!!!!!
The tall Plaza Tower building still stands? I read that it was demolished, and the original Sterling is still extant...
i like those big soap dispensers,
i want one in my front yard =)
I'm from Australia, we have some cool streetlights but they look retro =)
i hope there going to rebild it so we could stay there and actully stay in history..i wonder if thers ghosts (i hope not).
I now have the final scene of "Its a Mad, Mad, Mad World" running through my head.

Thanx Motts!
The Plaza Tower is gone as of 7/08. Original building at corner is still there.
The tower is now torn down, whats left is slated to be redone, probably just the lobby, everything else will be new. I think the tower was the best part.
Nice set of photos Motts. So the hotel is still standing right?? I hope they do re-do the hotel and get it up and running again. Not cheap but its a shame when we waste all these buildings instead of reusing them. Thanks again Motts :)
While the world of design changes, and things become more simple and modern (square seems to be the trend), I will always appreciate classical architecture and elements. Buildings like this should be treasured and not abandoned.
Well, blue lamp, I live in the area, but it seems like they've just kind of closed off the area. No renovations are actually taking place yet as far as I can tell.
I'm from the area ladies and gents... the Hotel Sterling still stands as is in the very last picture posted on this site.
I live in wilkes Barre and the building still stands as shown.
I guess as is is better than the building being torn down! I hope someone renovates this beautiful building and brings it back to it's glory! Great set Motts!
This place looks amazingly similar to the Blackhawk hotel in Davenport, IA. I was able to go inside after it was abandoned and get a few shots, nothing near the quality of these galleries though. great work!
I was in here this weekend. It's still abandoned, although it's gutted inside. The columns and wrought iron railings are still there.
Amazing pictures.... It tears my heart out that such a spectacular place has been left to rot... I dream that one day it'll be made grand again.
I am going to college right around the sterling, and the back building is torn down, partially at least, but I have heard that demolition became too expensive, and was stopped. Most of the building still stands. The outside looks almost exactly the same as the pictures. Most buildings in the town of Wilkes-Barre are abandoned.
