room with a view and almost no floor
no there's a floor, but there's also a counter that gives it the illusion of having no floor (i wasn't there, but that's what it looks like)
Viewful, floorless.

Nice shot.
Odd, I wonder what the deal is with the counter - and what's up with the three-paned glassless doors? Maybe this was once some kind of upper-level bar or cafe.
Do you have any idea of the original purpose of this room?
I have the impression it's pretty high up. . .How did that graffiti get there? It's such a shame to ruin those gorgeous windows.
Could it have been a room used for greenery or some sort? Seems the logical conclusion with so many windows and the counter top. I'm thinking like a roof-top garden room, in a way.
It almost looks like a room in a factory with those brick walls
I want this as my artist studio
It would be amazing for a studio. I'd just love to wake up in the morning and see that view. . .that would be a great beginning for any day.
It has a floor, thats a counter, you can tell by where the handle's on the open doors to the right are.
is that grafitti on the outside or inside? (outside would be crazy)
Maybe it was just a lounge on that Presidential Suite, like on some hotels, you get the balcony, this was probably an enclosed balcony. If you look above the windows, there are windows with drapes.
how is there grafiti on the frount of the windows?
Oh my goodness,
This is was the best place in the sordoni suite-this was aj's rose/orchid garden-it was a year round conservatory where he grew roses in the winter, and orchids and palms in the winter-at night when the couple would entertain they would light candles, and have dim lit white xmas lights and host cocktails out in there-I went to some parties here and it was beautiful looking down at the city at night and there was a wall fountain that trickled water-it was just so peaceful. This was never the presidential suite-it was the apartment of Senator and Mrs. Andrew Sordoni-they were lovely people and very good friends of my husband Herbert and I-these photos bring back such good memories. Bertha Merrieweather Reilly
of course years ago there was no counter-aj jr installed that to grow plants on for seed starting for his farm in harveys lake-still exists today i think-also the windows went down to the floor, that heating system was installed in the 1970s for the seeds.
It is the Mount Olympus suite! Gods descended on clouds to bless the commoners with wisdom. Faithful followers worshiped them from the streets below. The days when waifs and peasants knew their place, and scrambled for crumbs of cake tossed from the lofty ivory towers. Sad to see it end.
Ive been in this room! The view is sooooooo beautiful!
