was that caused by water damage or fire damage Motts?
Looks like water damage to me. While the boards in the ceiling are blackened, there's no real evidence of soot blacking or fire damaged debris on the floor.
'Expulsion' is right.
Jeebus, it looks like the ceiling has vomited
its contents like a living creature!
Great title Motts! This looks like it was another fairly fancy room at one time.
Love those curtains!
3rd ooh for decor here.
yeah I think its water damage, you can see the water marks - no real smoke or soot damage
Gross. It must have smelled pretty bad in there.
I wanna check this place out....
This is what happens when I am Partying in the room above!!!
Yikes, that light fixture - sorry, soap dispenser - looks like someone just dropped a wicker basket on top of a light bulb and called it "creative".
Yeah, SkedAddled, that's what I thought too: Looks like the ceiling puked!
Now that is a really interesting and original picture.
I can't imagine that smelt all too pleasant... All the same, fabulous shot!
That valance is awesome - I had an apartment once with 15' ceilings and 110" windows, could not find ready made window coverings so I made the drapes for it and made valances just like this. Pretty easy to make, but look so elegant!
I wonder how on earth the window decor survived intact. Eeww...
no wonder they tour this place down, once a roof starts leaking in a place if its not fixed fast the damaged it cause's spreads until the roof falls down, to bad its an amazeing place with an amazeing history
It's water damage. This hotel was never a victim of a fire. It was a victim of a lot of homeless people though. I live about 12 minutes from it. In its hayday it was a spectacular hotel. Now it is just an eyesore waiting for someone to do something with it.
According to Wiki, it did suffer fire damage in 2000.

Question: What is the last letter of the word "hospital"?
